eating dogs is really sick..and wrong?
hey guys i was just watching the news and a guy and his wife killed a siberian husky and chopped it up into patties and they ate it them selfs…
but the meat was supposed to be for their sick son..
and the dog meat can appearently cure a really bad illness..
but the parents ate it them selfs
i want your thoughts on what you think of this? personally i think they should go to jail for animal torture and stealing a dog and eating it
Most countries where dogs are eaten, do not eat pet dogs, but dogs bred specifically for the table. Just as we breed cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens.
But I have to say the idea of it sickens me. So does the thought of eating horse or cat meat.

And the last time you had a hamburger or a pork chop was… when?
The dog meat can’t really cure a bad illness, that’s a cultural myth. But not all cultures put the same value on the same animals. To some, cows are sacred. To Americans, they’re dinner. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Why?
In the long run, meat is meat. The only difference is how emotionally attached the eater is to it.

For stealing it yes especially if it was a family pet- I can only imagine how the poor owners must be feeling.
However I would like to point out that in other cultures the consumption of dog is in fact very common. The only reason why it seems so disgusting to you is because you live in a society which keeps dog as pets. It is in fact no different to killing and eating a rabbit, chicken or cow. Which most people do on a fairly common basis.
In fact certain lines of thought would actually lead one to believe that it is less barbaric killing a dog for food which has lead an active and happy life then the killing of an animal which has never seen daylight and is to fat to stand up (a condition which many meat bred hens live in).
I have never eaten dog nor am I advocating that anybody should do so- I just wanted to point out some facts.

I think that in some cultures it’s absolutely fine to eat dog meat… and that would be fine. It’s no different than us eating cow or pig (I wouldn’t ever eat dog though… ew)
However, in the example you posted, it’s just a couple of sick individuals that stole someone’s pet to eat it for dinner… ewww… it’s not technically torture if they killed it humanely, but I agree there should be something they can go to jail for… that’s just crazy

yes its terrible but in some society’s they see nothing wrong with it. The inuit too up north would eat things we would never want to eat. and of course they wanted there child to survive. I saw a movie once based on a true story where a plane crashes up in the snow someplace and they had to decide to eat the dead to survive so you’d be amazed what you can do when pushed to the limit. I suppose.
