While she's probably shedding her winter coat and labs do shed quite a bit all year long, the other contributing factor could be her dog food. When dogs and cats are properly nourished with high quality food, they DO reduce their shedding.

Changing her diet might be a worthwhile thing to do as when they're on really good food, one of the first thngs to happen is a much improved coat. I don't know what you feed her, but dogs and cats just do SO much better on grain free food. While these high grade foods do cost more than the cheap crap from the grocery store or WalMart, they actually eat less because their better able to digest it and their just more nourished. The other bonus is fewer vet bills.

These foods are not available in the stores mentioned above, however, some of them can be found in Petco/Petsmart and at feed stores where they sell hay for horses, they also carry the higher quality pet foods.

Here's a link where you can see how your pet food ranks and why. Also take a look at some of the 5 & 6 star rated foods and compare ingredients. Ideally, our pets should get a food whose first 2, preferably first 4 ingredients are "named meats. No corn, wheat or soy, no byproducts or artificial preservatives and colors.

It could be a coming of age thing. It's normal for dogs to shed a lot, and especially during this season. Since she's four, she's no longer a puppy, and could just be growing her adult fur.
Is it hotter where you live this year, than it has been in the past? This could be a factor. Remember to give her lots of water.
It could also be a reaction to her brand of food. Did you switch brands, recently? Try giving her some all natural dog food. It's more expensive, but it might reduce shedding.
I would try some things I suggested, and if it doesn't get better, or gets worse, you should go to your local pet store, and ask someone there what they think. You could also take her to the vet, and have them examine her. It could be a sign of worms, or a skin problem.
I hope she gets better!
References :
I'm a vet.

I have puppies in cars all the time. Some puke and some don't. I get motion sick in cars too and the same things that work for me, help with them. Most puppies stop puking as they get older (6 months to a year old). Some don't.

Things that help:
Don't let them look out the window (the motion caught from the corner of your eye makes it so much worse).
Don't let the car get too warm.
I'll second the no large meals before a car trip.
I also agree with the ginger... gingersnap cookies usually do the trick.
References :
Labs shed A LOT!! I dog sit in my home, and have a family of 3 black labs that come over..with in hours of them comming over I am sweeping up the mass amount of black fur!

A high quality diet, omega fatty acid supplements and frequent baths will help some...but a lab is a shedder and its easy to fill grocery bags up with their fur, especially during season changes.
References :
If your dog's shampoo doesn't already have this in it, you could get an oatmeal shampoo...It solved my dog's excessive shedding. You could also give your dog cod liver oil. It's cheep at a pharmacy, and will moisturize her skin from the inside out! Once or twice a week for a few weeks is fine! Just don't give her olive oil!
References :
My dog does the same thing an my vet said to give her non drowsy Dramamine. I do not have her in the car for long trips very often and she does fine on short trips. I heard that giving a dog ginger will help also.
References :
Shredding is a sign of poor nutrition, but i highly doubt someone like you would ever abuse a dog.

It is coming from spring to summer, your dog is getting in her summer coat. My dog is doing this too.

Good luck.
References :
My dog.
